retreat

Listening to music:
Eno – piano
two tracks
overlapped
scaling ups and downs
Reading prose poetry:
Brautigan – funny
to find his
long, run on
sentences in
“Revenge of the Lawn”
depicting a sunrise
a typewriter
a volkswagon bus
a pacific radio fire
leading me to
thinking about reading
and writing
and how the every day
is where the necessary
retreat is found
in the background
music of the sitar
and the resonance of bells.
